New Location for November Field to Friends meeting.
Field to Friends will be meeting at the Patrick County Campus of Patrick Henry Community College at 212 Wood Brothers Drive Stuart, VA 24171.
November 15th at 4 pm there will be a business meeting and at 5 pm Dale Puckett of Puckett Greenhouses will present a program on season extension. Next month we’ll meet again at Spencer Penn Centre on Tuesday December 13th.
By alternating the locations of meetings we are hoping to make it easier for more people to participate.
See you soon.
Small Farm Families Conference
Field to Friends was well represented at the Small Farm Family Conference in Danville earlier this week. Jessica and Gary Sturm and family, Martha Walker and Bob Tuggle were there. Lisa Fultz was also there from the Martinsville Henry County Economic Development Corp. Virginia State University did a great job with the conference. Maximizing profits and saving the family farm were two themes that were highlighted at the two day conference. There were over 350 folks there representing commercial growers, future growers, support agencies and vendors. It’s an annual event so look for it next year.
